I Space Mining Conference
One-day conference under the auspices of the Vice-Rector of the AGH University of Science and Technology Prof. Anna Siwik, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics Prof. Antoni Kalukiewicz, Dean of the Faculty of Geology, Geophysics and Environmental Protection Prof. dr. hab. inż. Jacek Matyszkiewicz, Union of Space Sector Employers, Space Research Centre PAS and POLSA – Polish Space Agency took place on 24.05.2018 at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Robotics at the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow.
The scope of the conference included the topics of weightless mining, sampling of rocks/grillite from celestial bodies, testing on samples (especially in terms of mechanical strength parameters), geology of celestial bodies, use of geophysical methods in space exploration, space propulsion, space robotics/automation and other technologies with potential applications in space mining. The conference was focused on technical and legal aspects of space mining.
